Singapore Southern Islands Hopping (3 Or 4 Islands) review

Zhuang Jia Wen

Looking to escape the bustle of the city for a day? The Southern Islands of Singapore offer a tranquil respite featuring outdoor adventures, coastal scenery and historical sights. I booked a tour to experience three of these islands – Lazarus, Kusu and St John’s – in just one day of island hopping.

After getting picked up from my hotel, we boarded a bumboat for the first stop – Lazarus Island. We enjoyed a short nature trail hike to the beach before some relaxed beach time. The area felt secluded with white sands and clear waters.

Next up was Kusu Island, home to picturesque Chinese and Malay shrines. The striking Da Bo Gong temple overlooks the sea. We had a seafood lunch buffet on Kusu before heading to St. John’s Island.

At St. John’s, we could go kayaking, cycling or swim at the beach. I chose to rent a bicycle and explore the island perimeter and old quarry site. There was time for coconut ice cream before the return boat journey.

The tour made getting between islands easy while allowing time to enjoy the highlights and activities at a relaxed pace. For a quick tropical island vacation, I’d absolutely recommend this tour! You get a taste of everything that makes the Southern Islands special.
